The Couvert (starters) are not for free, whatever you eat you must pay for, whether or not you ordered it. Waiters bring bread, olives and other goodies to your table the moment you sit down.
In a café the price might vary from where you sit, terrace is pricier, standing by the counter is cheaper.
Going out at night starts particulary late, on weekends people generaly meet around 11p.m., and dancing is a lonely activity before 2.a.m.
English is widely spoken and understood all around the country, people are generally very helpful and cheerful.
Is common that women and men greet with a kiss on each cheek.
Sardines are a national delight, but are only fresh in season, be aware they might be frozen.
