For those who look for a quiet, safe and central place, Shiado Hostel is located in the Chiado area's heart, the cultural soul of Lisbon, a step away from the São Carlos Opera, the Chiado Museum and the famous bar A Brasileira. Open in March 2009 and decorated by artists and friends, it's the ideal starting point to fall in love with Lisbon: everything is near. It has been thought for those travelers wanting to enjoy our city at best, by day and by night: for this reason you won't find parties or big crazy beer nights here, but we will be always happy to give you advises on our favorite places to visit, bars or restaurants. In our hostel you will find comfort, cleanlyness, safety. We have a guest kitchen, free internet and wi-fi, cable tv, dvd's and all shared rooms have lockers to keep your personal affairs safe. Our main worry is to guarantee tranquility to our guests while in the hostel but, for those who prefer to dive into Lisbon's night, the electric Bairro Alto's atmosphere is just a few steps away. And, for those who want to relax a little bit more, our neighbours are the Portuguese Macrobiotic Institute and the Yoga Centre Gayatri: discover the opportunity to give yourself a little bit of wellbeing without going out of the door...! A perfect spot for meeting people, having interesting conversations and relaxing in a great environment!

From the airport

By Bus
Option 1 (walking distance 650 m):
Take bus n. 91 (AEROBUS, 3.50€) in case you have luggage - in case you just have a backpack you may also take nr 44 or 745 (1.50€) towards SANTA APOLÓNIA and get off at ROSSIO. Walk along the Rua do Carmo. Take the first street on the right (Rua Garrett) and then the second on the left where you see the bookshop Bertrand (Rua Anchieta). Our hostel is located at n. 5 of Rua Anchieta on the lefthand side, between the shop "A Vida Portuguesa" and the Café "Kaffeehaus" (just in front of the restaurant "New Wok"). In case you get lost, just ask for the "Governo Civil": our road is right in front of it!

Option 2 (walking distance 350 m):
Only in case you have a small luggage (backpack or similar): take bus n. 22 (1.40€) towards MARQUÊS DE POMBAL and get off at the last stop. Once you are in the square Marquês de Pombal, take the Underground (Blue Line) towards SANTA APOLÓNIA and get off at BAIXA-CHIADO station. Exit the underground following the directions to “Largo do Chiado”. Once you exit the underground, turn left on Rua Garrett and then take the second street on the right, Rua Anchieta (on the corner there is the Bertrand bookshop). Our hostel is located at n. 5 of Rua Anchieta on the lefthand side, between the shop "A Vida Portuguesa" and the Café "Kaffeehaus" (just in front of the restaurant "New Wok"). From Santa Apolónia Railway Station

Take the Blue Line towards Santa Apolónia and get off at BAIXA-CHIADO station. Exit the underground following the directions to “Largo do Chiado”. Once you exit the underground, turn left onto Rua Garrett and then take the second street on the right, Rua Anchieta (on the corner there is the Bertrand bookshop). Our hostel is located at n. 5 Rua Anchieta on the lefthand side, between the shops "La Vida Portuguesa" and "Kaffeehaus" (just in front of the restaurant "New Wok"). From Oriente Railway Station

Take the Red Line towards SALDANHA. Get off at Alameda and take the Green Line towards CAIS DO SODRÉ. Get off in BAIXA-CHIADO. Exit the underground following the directions to “Largo do Chiado”. From Campo Grande Bus and Railway Station
